How do you reach people facing cancer when they’re at their most vulnerable? In a series of videos that I animation directed and did production design for, we let fellow cancer survivors and caregivers share their personal stories.

The spots were done with Washington Square Films and W2O.

The idea was to offer visualizations of the survivors and caregivers inner emotions, as a guidance post for fellow current travelers. The hand drawn elements add to the intimacy of the moments, and the color themes reflects the warms and cools, highs and lows of their journeys.

The process involved story/mood/and technological design as we had to come up with a system to sync certain projections of hand drawn elements to emotional beats within each letter.
